LAPAROSCOPY

Laparoscopy is a surgical procedurein which one or more small incisions might be made to allow your doctor to view the affected area in order to make a diagnosis and if needed take remedial steps to address the underlying issue. Laparoscopy is often used as an alternative to open surgery, as it typically results in less pain and a faster recovery time.

COMMON ISSUES & SERVICES

DIAGNOSTIC LAPAROSOPY

Diagnostic laparoscopy is a type of procedure that is used to diagnose a condition or disease within the abdominal or pelvic area. The laparoscope is inserted through a small incision, and the surgeon uses it to view the internal organs and structures. During the diagnostic laparoscopy, the surgeon may also take biopsies or samples of tissue for further examination.

LAPAROSCOPIC MANAGEMENT OF OVARIAN CYSTS

Laparoscopic management of ovarian cysts is a surgical procedure that uses a laparoscope to remove cysts on the ovaries. During the procedure, the surgeon will use small instruments to remove the cyst from the ovary. If the cyst is benign, it will be removed in its entirety. If the cyst is malignant or suspicious, a biopsy may be taken and sent to the laboratory for further analysis.

LAPAROSCOPIC MANAGEMENT OF TUBAL PREGNANCY

Tubal pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tube instead of the uterus, leading to a pregnancy that is not viable. In such a situation, your doctor will remove tha pregnancy by cutting or and removing the affected ticcue and if required the fallopian tube.

LAPAROSCOPIC TOTAL HYSTERECTOMY

A laparoscopic total hysterectomy is a surgical procedure in which the uterus and cervix are removed through small incisions in the abdomen using a laparoscope. In a total hysterectomy, the uterus and cervix are removed, while in a subtotal or supracervical hysterectomy, only the uterus is removed and the cervix is left intact.

DIAGNOSTIC HYSTEROSCOPY

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a procedure in which a camera and instruments are introduced through the vagina to examine the inside of the cervix and uterus to identify any structural or other anomalies. Your doctor may also collect tissue samples or remove unwanted structures during the procedure.

LAPAROSCOPIC MYOMECTOMY

In laparoscopic myomectomy your doctor accesses and removes fibroids through several small abdominal incisions. Typically patients who undergo the procedure experience minimal blood loss, faster recovery times and lower rates of post-procedure complications.

LAPAROSCOPIC SACRO-COLPOPEXY

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy is a surgical procedure used to treat pelvic organ prolapse in women, in which one or more of the pelvic organs, such as the uterus, bladder, or rectum, drop from their normal position and press against the vaginal wall. During the procedure, a mesh or sling is placed to support the pelvic organs and prevent further prolapse.

LAPAROSCOPIC PELVIC-FLOOR REPAIR

Laparoscopic pelvic-floor repair is a surgical procedure used to treat pelvic organ prolapse in women. Pelvic organ prolapse occurs when one or more of the pelvic organs, such as the bladder, uterus, or rectum, drop from their normal position. The procedure may involve repairing or reinforcing the supportive ligaments, fascia, and muscles of the pelvic floor, and may also involve the use of mesh or other surgical materials to provide additional support.

LAPAROSCOPIC VESICO-VAGINAL FISTULA REPAIR

Laparoscopic vesicovaginal fistula repair is a surgical procedure used to treat a vesicovaginal fistula, which is an abnormal connection between the bladder and the vagina. During the procedure, the surgeon uses a laparoscope and other surgical instruments to access the area and repair the fistula.

LAPAROSCOPIC UTERINE NERVE ABLATION (LUNA) FOR CHRONIC PELVIC PAIN

This is a minimally invasive surgical procedure during which the surgeon selectively ablates or destroys nerves in the uterus, including the sympathetic and sensory nerves, which are believed to play a role in the development of chronic pelvic pain.

LAPAROSCOPIC STERILIZATION

Laparoscopic sterilization, or laparoscopic tubal ligation, is a type of surgical procedure that is used to permanently prevent pregnancy. The laparoscope is used to access the fallopian tubes, which are used to either cut, cauterize, or clip the fallopian tubes. It's considered as a safe and effective method of birth control. Recovery time is usually quick, with most patients able to return to normal activities within a few days.

LAPAROSCOPIC SALPINGO-OOPHORECTOMY

A laparoscopic oophorectomy is a surgical procedure in which one or both ovaries are removed through small incisions in the abdomen. This procedure is typically performed for the treatment of ovarian cancer, cysts or other benign conditions that affect the ovaries. It may also be performed in conjunction with a hysterectomy or other pelvic surgery

LAPAROSCOPIC ASSISTED VAGINAL HYSTERECTOMY

A laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) is a surgical procedure in which the uterus is removed through small incisions in the abdomen, with the assistance of a laparoscope. The procedure is then completed through the vagina. The ovaries and fallopian tubes may also be removed during the procedure, depending on the reason for the surgery.

LAPAROSCOPIC RE-CANALIZATION SURGERY

Laparoscopic recanalization or tubal ligation inversion is a procedure to restore fertility after a woman has had a tubal ligation, a procedure that cuts or blocks the fallopian tubes to avoid pregnancy. The procedure reconnects the tubes through small incisions in the abdomen.

LAPAROSCOPIC BURCH SUSPENSION

A laparoscopic Burch procedure is also known as urinary bladder suspension. This procedure is done to treat stress urinary incontinence and bladder prolapse. During the procedure, your doctor will insert tools and a laparoscope through small incisions around the belly button. During this procedure, the bladder will be pulled up and secured firmly in order to resolve the issue.

LAPAROSCOPIC INTESTINAL ANASTOMOSIS

Laparoscopic intestinal anastomosis is a surgical procedure in which the ends of two separated sections of the intestine are reattached using laparoscopic techniques. The aim of the procedure is to restore the continuity of the intestine and allow for the normal passage of food and waste.

RADICAL LAPAROSCOPIC HYSTERECTOMY

Radical laparoscopic hysterectomy is a type of minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove the uterus as well as other surrounding tissues, such as the cervix, fallopian tubes, ovaries, and lymph nodes, as part of the treatment for certain types of gynecologic disorders such as uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, etc.

TVT AND TOT & TVTO FOR STRESS URINARY INCONTINENCE

TVT (tension-free vaginal tape) and TOT (transobturator tape) are types of minimally invasive surgical procedures used to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. SUI is a condition where the bladder leaks urine during activities that increase pressure on the abdomen, such as coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercise. TVTO (transvaginal tape-obturator) is another variation of such a procedure which is performed entirely through the vagina and does not involve any incisions in the abdomen.

LAPAROSCOPIC LYMPHADENECTOMY FOR GYNECOLOGICAL MALIGNANCIES

This is a type of minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove lymph nodes from the pelvic or para-aortic region in women with gynecologic cancers. During a laparoscopic lymphadenectomy, a laparoscope and other surgical instruments are inserted through small incisions in the abdomen. The surgeon then removes the affected lymph nodes and biopsies them to determine if they contain cancer cells.

OPERATIVE HYSTEROSCOPY

Operative hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a hysteroscope inserted through the vagina to examine and treat conditions within the uterus. Such a procedure can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometrial polyps, and adhesions (scar tissue) within the uterus. It can also be used to remove an intrauterine device (IUD) or to perform a biopsy of the uterine lining.
